We the People of the U.S.A. are outraged that Congress has not adequately met basic human needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather, big money in our political system has twisted relief bills to provide big tax breaks to billionaires. While workers wait endlessly for relief, refrigerators go empty, and millions of families face homelessness. The Federal government must provide urgent, direct aid, which can slow the virus by allowing people without income to self-quarantine.
Congress must also assure that health workers and contact tracers have the training, equipment, and supplies they need and must remove cost barriers to the delivery of health services for anyone with COVID symptoms. With adequate testing and contact tracking, hot spots can be identified early without the need to shut down the economy.
Tell Congress that the people’s health and economic well-being must be primary now. No more serving wealthy donors while people are out of work, isolated, hungry, sick, and afraid. You may edit the text below as you wish or send as is.
